Overview, Core Specifications & Design

What is the Reolink P324 and what primary security functions does it serve?

A: The Reolink P324 is a 5MP Super HD outdoor Power over Ethernet (PoE) dome/turret security IP camera. Built with a durable aluminum metal housing, it functions as a standalone or NVR-integrated security monitoring solution designed to capture high-definition video, distinguish human, vehicle, and animal targets, record two-way audio, and safeguard residential properties, garages, or commercial storefronts.

What is the form factor, casing material, and weight of the Reolink P324?

A:

What items are included in the package box when purchasing the Reolink P324?

A: The standard package includes:

Reolink P324 Security Camera
1 Meter Ethernet Cable
Waterproof Lid for LAN Connection
Mounting Template
Pack of Mounting Screws and Wall Anchors
24/7 Surveillance Warning Sign / Sticker
Operational Instructions / Quick Start Guide

Does the Reolink P324 support pan and tilt motor rotation?

A: No. The Reolink P324 features a fixed optical lens housing with manual-only direction rotation. During installation, the camera head can be manually rotated and tilted inside its mounting collar to point at your desired monitoring zone.

What warranty coverage and smart home platforms are supported by the camera?

A: The Reolink P324 includes a 2-year limited warranty valid when purchased through official Reolink stores or authorized resellers. It is compatible with Google Assistant, allowing live camera streams to be displayed on smart display devices using simple voice commands.

Optics, Video Resolution & Infrared Night Vision

What video resolution, frame rate, and compression format does the Reolink P324 support?

A:

What lens specifications and optical field of view does the camera provide?

A: The camera is built with a 1/2.7-inch CMOS image sensor and a fixed 2.8mm focal length lens featuring an F1.6 aperture and auto-switching IR-cut filter. It delivers a wide 110-degree horizontal field of view and a 57-degree vertical field of view for expansive room or yard coverage.

What are the main stream and sub stream bitrate settings for the P324?

A:

How does the infrared night vision function and what is its maximum distance range?

A: For clear video monitoring in complete darkness, the camera features high-power 850nm IR LEDs (1.8W) with an auto-switching IR-cut filter. The infrared night vision delivers crisp black-and-white video coverage at distances up to 30 meters (100 feet).

Does the Reolink P324 support color night vision or spotlights?

A: The Reolink P324 uses infrared night vision for black-and-white recording in complete darkness. Ambient lighting (Such as porch lights or streetlamps) in the monitored area allows the camera's F1.6 aperture sensor to capture color video in low-light conditions.

Smart AI Detection, Audio & Recording Modes

What smart AI detection capabilities are integrated into the Reolink P324?

A: Onboard AI image processing algorithms provide intelligent real-time target recognition and alert filtering for:

How does the onboard AI filtering help reduce false motion alarms?

A: By distinguishing the shape signatures of people, cars, and animals from general background movement, the camera filters out non-threatening motion triggers caused by swaying tree branches, rain, shadows, or flying insects, dramatically reducing unwanted alert notifications.

Does the Reolink P324 support Two-Way Audio and sound recording?

A: Yes. The camera features a built-in microphone and a built-in speaker, enabling clear ambient audio recording as well as real-time two-way voice communication through the Reolink App or Client software.

What local video recording modes are supported on the P324?

A: Once a MicroSD card or NVR is connected, the P324 supports three primary recording modes:

What alert notification options are available when motion or AI targets are detected?

A: Upon target detection, the camera can trigger:

Power over Ethernet (PoE), Cabling & Network Setup

How is the Reolink P324 powered?

A: The primary power method is active Power over Ethernet (PoE) adhering to IEEE 802.3af standards (48V Active), delivering electric power and high-speed network data over a single Ethernet cable. Alternatively, it can be powered using an optional DC 12V, 1A power adapter (Power consumption under 12W) connected to its tail cable DC jack. A DC power adapter is not included in the standard box.

What Ethernet cables and PoE standards are required to operate the camera?

A: The camera uses standard Cat5e, Cat6, or higher unshielded or shielded twisted-pair Ethernet cables equipped with RJ45 connectors up to 100 meters (328 feet) in length. Power can be supplied via a standard 802.3af PoE switch, PoE injector, or Reolink PoE NVR.

Can the Reolink P324 be connected directly to a Reolink PoE NVR?

A: Yes. Plugging the Ethernet cable directly into an available PoE port on a Reolink NVR instantly provisions the camera for 24/7 continuous recording, active power delivery, and centralized management without complex network setup.

Which network protocols and web browsers are supported by the camera?

A:

How many simultaneous user accounts and live video streams are supported?

A:

Hardware Layout, Onboard Storage & Installation

What local storage capacity is supported on the Reolink P324?

A: The camera features a built-in MicroSD card slot supporting microSD cards with storage capacities up to 512GB for local event or continuous video archiving.

Is the Reolink P324 weatherproof and suitable for outdoor installation?

A: Yes. The camera features a certified IP67 weatherproof rating, making it completely dust-tight and highly resistant to heavy rain downpours, snow, and extreme weather conditions.

What are the operational temperature and humidity limits for the camera?

A:

Where are the physical connection ports and reset button located?

A:

How do you mount the Reolink P324 onto a ceiling or wall?

A:

Hold the camera base and turn the mounting plate counterclockwise to separate the plate from the dome body.
Position the mounting template on your ceiling or wall surface and drill holes. Insert plastic wall anchors if installing on drywall or masonry.
Secure the mounting plate firmly using the provided screws.
Align the camera body to the mounting plate, push upward, and turn the camera clockwise until the locking notch points align.

Mobile App Setup, System Access & Troubleshooting

How do you perform initial setup for the Reolink P324 using the Reolink App?

A:

Connect the camera's RJ45 Ethernet cable to a PoE switch, PoE injector, or Reolink PoE NVR connected to your router.
Ensure your smartphone is connected to the same local WiFi router network.
Open the Reolink App and tap the "+" icon in the top right corner.
Scan the QR code located on the camera housing or tap "Input UID/IP" to manually enter the 16-character UID.
Follow the on-screen prompts to set an admin password, assign a device name, and tap "Finish" to complete setup.

How do you adjust the camera viewing angle after mounting?

A: Once the base plate is securely attached to the surface, manually rotate the dome ball body and tilt the lens assembly inside its collar until you achieve your desired surveillance framing.

How do you perform a factory default reset on the camera?

A: Locate the reset button assembly on the tail cable harness. While the camera is powered on, press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds until you hear an audio prompt or see the status LEDs blink, indicating factory default settings have been restored.

What should I do if the camera channel displays a "Video Loss" or connection error?

A:

Verify that your PoE switch, injector, or NVR port delivers active 48V IEEE 802.3af PoE power.
Check that the Ethernet cable connectors are firmly clicked into place on both ends.
Test the camera using another RJ45 Ethernet cable or plug it into a different PoE port.
Verify that your router's DHCP server assigned a valid IP address on the local network subnet.

What troubleshooting steps should I take if the live stream video feed is blurry or dark?

A:

Clean the glass lens cover with a soft microfiber cloth to remove dust, fingerprints, or water spots.
Ensure the protective plastic shipping film has been removed from the dome camera face.
Check the Reolink App settings under Display > Day & Night to ensure the IR cut filter and night vision modes are set to Auto.
