Channel Capacity, PoE System Overview & Hardware Architecture
What type of NVR is the Reolink RLN8 and how many camera channels does it support?
A: The Reolink RLN8 is a compact, high-performance Network Video Recorder equipped with 8 built-in Power over Ethernet (PoE) ports. On updated hardware versions (Such as N7MB01), it supports up to 12 IP cameras in total (8 directly connected wired PoE cameras plus additional cameras added via a local network switch or router) for centralized 24/7 continuous recording, live monitoring, and unified device management.
How does the built-in 8-channel PoE system work?
A: The rear panel features 8 independent RJ45 PoE ports conforming to IEEE 802.3af/at standards. Each port delivers up to 25W of power, transmitting both high-definition digital video and electric power simultaneously over a single Cat5e, Cat6, or Cat7 Ethernet cable up to 100 meters (330 feet) without requiring separate power adapters for each camera.
